Job Description:
Our client is looking for an experienced Circuit Design Engineer to design and develop circuits used in electronic devices. The Circuit Design Engineer will be responsible for layout and mask design, device evaluation and characterization, test box design, prototype construction and checkout, and determination of wafer fabrication processes. The Circuit Design Engineer will prepare test methods and specifications, analyze equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, provide finished device approval, and prepare customer application information.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
Work on mask layout and PDK development for photonic integrated circuits (PICs), superconducting qubit and trapped-ion qubit quantum computing, and other emerging integrated circuit technologies.
Perform work in a full Cadence environment.
Responsibility for the full layout project from p cell creation to final mask tapeout.
Perform key tasks including coding layout p cells, writing technology files, laying out devices, test structures, systems, and full mask reticles.
Maintain documentation and use revision control all in coordination with the broader layout and project teams.
Qualifications:
Expertise with coding layout p cells in the Cadence Virtuoso (skill) environment.
Familiarity with both custom manual layout and automated scripted layout techniques, and in the development and support of Process Design Kits (PDKs) for an in-house foundry.
Experience with mask aggregation and layout.
Strong communication and team-based collaboration skills.
Good judgement and independent problem-solving abilities.
Experience with DRC and LVS is a plus but not required.
Experience developing technology files and design environments in Cadence or similar tools is a plus.
Experience with Cadence is preferred.
Experience with the Advanced Node version of Cadence is a plus.
Experience coding with Perl, TCL, or Python is a plus.
Integrated photonic or RF layout design experience is preferred.
Experience with Cadence CurvyCore is a plus.
Due to the nature of the work, an Interim clearance is required, however an active Secret clearance is highly preferred.
