Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Location : Cambridge, MA

Duration: 8+ Months

Candidates need to be a US Citizen as the Laboratory is a cleared facility.

A Secret Clearance without Incident or the ability to acquire a security clearance is required for this role.



  • Support Trident guidance system program

  • Work with design team(s) to resolve functional issues found in circuit card assemblies

  • Interface with the design community to understand design intent, and production partners to understand and reconcile production issues

  • Review designs and create engineering change orders to correct issues

  • Generate creative technical solutions to reconcile issues while meeting the high-reliability requirement of the system

  • Manage assigned problem reports and supporting material review boards as a technical team member.

  • Maintain, update, and adhere to processes and procedures required for a high-reliability system

  • Participate on cross-functional teams with engineers from other disciplines, clearly communicate ideas and status updates to internal teams, and potentially meet with (and present to) external sponsors


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar. Minimum nine years experience as engineer related to electro-mechanical systems and mechanical parts

  • Demonstrated success in solving technical problems. Experience as the responsible packaging engineer for circuit boards and circuit card assemblies

  • Self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills, be capable of achieving organizational and program objectives, and be able to interface with all levels of internal management as well as program sponsors and sub-contractors

  • Proficiency with 3D CAD and PDM packages, specifically Creo, Windchill, and Enovia

  • Hands-on experience building mechanical and electro-mechanical systems

  • Experience with machine shop tools, fabrication techniques

Current US Secret or higher clearance preferred (recent expired clearance acceptable if eligible for renewal)
