Job Description:
Our client is looking for a highly talented and motivated Computer Scientist to perform research and development in CAD tools for FPGA hardware. The Computer Scientist will collaborate with a high caliber team to create EDA tools for trusted and assured computing. The Computer Scientist will develop automated hardware testing to validate functionality of a range of FPGA and eFPGA families and resources. The Computer Scientist will actively participate in developing techniques and tools to characterize and analyze the health of FPGA devices. The Computer Scientist will lead research, propose major innovations, collaborate with peers within the group and across ISI, publish results in top tier conferences, and contribute to or lead proposals.
Qualifications:
PhD or Master’s degree and equivalent experience in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
Previous publications, patents, or innovations related to FPGA CAD tool algorithms (i.e., synthesis, partitioning, mapping, placing, and routing), design automation, hardware trust, assurance, and security, or computer architecture.
Strong software development (C++, Java, and Python) and hardware design (VHDL, Verilog, and System Verilog) experience.
Expert level use of Xilinx, Intel, or Lattice FPGA implementation tools.
Experience using or contributing to open-source EDA tools such as Torc, RapidWright, ABC, VPR, VTR, RapidSmith, nextpnr, and prjXray is preferred.
Understanding of machine learning with applications to hardware systems, including training and inference is preferred.
Experience with software revision control systems such as Git, Mercurial, SVN, and CI/CD development workflows is preferred.
Must be in or willing to relocate to the Arlington, VA area.
Qualified candidates for this position must be willing and eligible to apply for a Top-Secret clearance (current Secret clearance or higher is a plus).
